Humble Beginnings and Milestones

When we opened our first Tapa King back in 1987 at Makati City, our goal was simple⁠—to carve out a spot where busy meat lovers can enjoy a classic homestyle favorite, even while on the go. Over the years, our signature tapa has become an everyday staple in the select areas where we are. We want to bring the homestyle goodness of Tapa King into every neighborhood, not just in the Philippines but all over the world.

We are the only specialised fast-casual Filipino tapa restaurant that upholds authentic Pinoy ways of cooking tapa, using freshly prepared and real ingredients. Through our attentiveness and progressiveness in research and development, food preparation, and service, our guests taste distinct Pinoy flavors and feel special, valued, and cared for.

With a 33-year track record, Tapa King has established itself as a strong competitor in the food industry. Over the years, we’ve expanded to 80 stores all over the Philippines and in neighboring countries. We started off with our first franchise store in 1997 and have expanded outside the Philippines with stores in Singapore (2010) and UAE (2014). 

Introducing a New Classic

In June 2020, we have updated the look and feel of our brand. This marks a new chapter for our family as we continue to offer the best of what we have to all our guests. Some of our stores’ interiors have been redesigned to have the familiar laid-back comfort of the house you grew up in, but with the modern conveniences of a fast casual restaurant.

However along with this new chapter, our country is currently experiencing the “new normal” due to the COVID-19 pandemic wherein everyone is highly encouraged to stay at home. After the quarantine implementation, the Tapa King team decided to lend a helping hand to the frontliners, families, communities and local government units who were greatly affected by donating more than 50,000 food packs. Moreover, despite many companies and institutions closing down, Tapa King still assures that we can continue to bring our guests our famous signature tapa along with our classic Filipino homestyle meals into the safety of their homes.

Serving Our Guests for More than Three Decades

Tapa King has been operating in the food industry for three decades now, and to celebrate our 33rd Anniversary this July 2020, we have prepared new offers that will surely excite our guests.

We brought back our Homestyle Meal Deals, good for two, for only P333. In addition, we are currently offering free delivery via our 8888-TAPA Delivery Hotline when you reach a minimum order of P800, while orders P799 and below, will only have to pay P33 delivery charge (available for a limited time only). And as our Anniversary Treat, you can buy 2 of our Classic Tapa King and get 1 for only P33, available from July 17 to 31, 2020 only. 

Furthermore, the pandemic brought out many changes that affected many businesses and influenced the buying behaviors of the Filipino consumers.  They are now looking for other ways to order contactlessly due to health and safety concerns. Movement is also limited, due to the implementation of quarantine protocols and safety regulations. The demand for ready-to-cook items has increased as many Filipinos are now working from home. They prefer meals that only require lesser time preparation for them to enjoy safely indoors. To adapt to these changes and to answer the needs of our customers, we are launching our Frozen Tapa line, our very own Online Ordering Platform and eVouchers!

To answer the requests of our loyal customers, we have developed our Frozen Tapa line! You can now prepare and enjoy our Tapa Favorites at the safety of your homes. Choose from our three flavors: Tapa King’s Classic, Spicy & Sweet or Sweet & Savory, for only P399 per pack (450g). 

Apart from our 8888-TAPA Delivery Hotline, we have partnered with different aggregators like FoodPanda, GrabFood and LalaFood to increase our accessibility to our customers. To further strengthen our delivery system, we are launching our newest Online Ordering Platform in partnership with Booky! Our guests can now order online for dine-in, self-pick up and delivery transactions. Pay conveniently using credit cards, GCash, Paymaya and Coins! 

We are also now offering eVouchers via ShareTreats.ph! You can now easily send Tapa King e-Gift Vouchers to your friends and family. These vouchers are available in P100, P300, P500 and P800 denominations and you can redeem it in any participating Tapa King stores via dine-in, take-out and delivery hotline 8888-TAPA.
